Our Team – Meet The Vets and/ or their Pets at The Holland Park and Carina Vet Clinics
Peter Kitchen - B.V.Sc
Hi! I graduated at the U Of Qld in 1977 and then worked in a few practices in southern Qld. In 1980 I travelled to England and spent 18 months working in a busy small animal practice in Essex. I gained alot of experience working in this practice and it was extremely rewarding. I returned home in late 1981 and found a position at the Holland Park Vet Clinic where I have remained ever since. I currently spend time at both the Holland Park & Carina Vet Clinics and I always strive to provide personal and committed service to all the pets that come into my care.
The little guy I am nursing is one of our pair of 4-legged family members. He is a lively Jack Russell Terrier who is about 1 year old in this photo (born in 2011).

Jenny Miller - B.V.Sc
I graduated from University of Queensland in 1988. In the early years after graduation I worked at Maroochydore, Bli Bli & Bribie Island. Since then I’ve worked at Holland Park & Carina Clinics, initially full time & now part time, mainly at Holland Park. I have also enjoyed a few years working part time at TAFE which was a great experience.
My main interest is in small animal medicine. I gain satisfaction negotiating with pets, with their quirky behaviours and varied personalities, and providing advice and guidance to their caring owners!
Our family pets are currently boss cat Merlin, small dog Tino, 2 cute rats Pip & Spook, and
freshwater rainbows and blue eyes in an outdoor pond. In December 2018 we were saddened by the loss of our beautiful Lily dog, a boxer staffy cross.
My interests include reading, bushwalking, anything to do with the beach & a good coffee. My bicycle is unfortunately getting rusty and needs to entice me back on the bikeways.

Jacqui Johnston - B.Sc BVMS
I graduated from Murdoch University in Perth in 1997 and have worked in small animal practice in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane. I enjoy interacting with clients in general vet practice and love meeting people's pets. I have been working at Holland Park Vet Clinic on a part time basis since 2012. Outside of work I'm mum to Wendy and Andrew and my furkid is Doc the whippet. My other interests include walking, reading and volunteering on our kindy's parent committee.
I graduated in 2011 from James Cook University in Townsville. I made the decision to move back to Brisbane as this is where my family are. I went straight from university into my first veterinary position in Logan and had been working there for 7 years, prior to my move to Southside Vets. I will usually be found at the Holland Park Veterinary Clinic, though will also do some work occasionally at the Carina Veterinary Clinic.
I tend to call myself the crazy cat, Border Collie and reptile lady. I have 7 of my own cats (all rescues, of course), 2 Border Collies, 4 Snakes, a Turtle and American Cichlid fish.
I enjoy all parts of my veterinary work, from consultations to surgeries, diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasound) and dentistry work. I particularly enjoy animal dentistry and dental hygiene and am always happy to discuss dental procedures and dental care with clients. I always strive to do my best to help my patients and their owners, and want to ensure pets have the best quality of life possible.

Hi there! I’m a qualified veterinary technician. I graduated from UQ Gatton in 2017 and spent my first 2 years as a tech in a 24hr veterinary hospital before moving to Holland Park Vet Clinic in November 2019. I did most of my prac at the Holland Park clinic while at uni so I was always eager to rejoin the team one day.
In my spare time I enjoy camping, adrenalin adventures, fitness, great food and spending time with my nearest and dearest.
You will most likely find me out the back of the clinic doing a lot of the surgical nursing side of things but I love the client education side of my job most.
Clinic(s) - Holland Park and Carina
Hey! My name is Keely and I have been with Carina and Holland Park Vet since 2020 while also working to complete my Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. You can usually find me bouncing between both clinics and cuddling as many animals as I can along the way. When I’m not at work or studying, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and our two dogs Ned (Golden Retriever) and Pam (Labrador X). I also love binge-watching tv shows, swimming, playing music and eating (I really really love eating).
Hi I’m Amber. I’m a Cert IV Veterinary Nurse and I started working at both the Holland Park and Carina Vet Clinics in March 2020. I love everything that is furry, fluttery or slithery. In my spare time I enjoy working backstage with a local theatre company, reading, playing with our family pets Jett and Skip and my quirky little budgies Petrie and Shiloh.
Hi, I’ve been working with the team at Southside Vet Group, predominantly at the Carina Veterinary Clinic since 1996.
I am owned by a lot of critters – dogs, cats, chickens, parrots, rats and fish.
I hold a current Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and am also a Certified Member of the Delta Institute with a qualification in animal training, and have completed Fear Free Certification through an American Institute. When not working at the clinic, I work for TAFE Queensland 3 days per week – teaching across three Animal Science Qualifications.
I enjoy watching and studying animal behaviour, giving animals choice, and encouraging them to participate in their own veterinary care without the stress. I currently hold puppy preschool classes for the practice as well as having my own animal training business All Pets Education and Training and am always happy to help you with behaviour or training concerns you may be having.
After Hours – Nursing Care
In-patient Care “Out of Clinic” Hours
Presently Amanda has the very important role of caring for and monitoring any hospitalised patients at our Holland Park Clinic. This requires her dedicated attendance to patients during the night and over week-ends and communicating updates on the patient’s status to duty veterinarians.
