Our Team – Meet The Vets and/ or their Pets at The Holland Park and Carina Vet Clinics
Peter Kitchen - B.V.Sc
Hi! I graduated at the U Of Qld in 1977 and then worked in a few practices in southern Qld. In 1980 I travelled to England and spent 18 months working in a busy small animal practice in Essex. I gained alot of experience working in this practice and it was extremely rewarding. I returned home in late 1981 and found a position at the Holland Park Vet Clinic where I have remained ever since. I currently spend time at both the Holland Park & Carina Vet Clinics and I always strive to provide personal and committed service to all the pets that come into my care.
The little guy I am nursing is one of our pair of 4-legged family members. He is a lively Jack Russell Terrier who is about 1 year old in this photo (born in 2011).

Hi all! I completed my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2015, and joined the team in October 2016, making me the newest member of the team. In my spare time, I’m either reading or writing, and spending time with my menagerie. Said menagerie being the human, feathered and furred kind.
This beautiful creature here is 1/13 birds and my personal companion “Pyro”.
Hi, I’ve been working with the team at Southside Vet Group, predominantly at the Carina Veterinary Clinic since 1996.
I am owned by a lot of critters – dogs, cats, chickens, parrots, rats and fish.
I hold a current Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing, and am also a Certified Member of the Delta Institute with a qualification in animal training, and have completed Fear Free Certification through an American Institute. When not working at the clinic, I work for TAFE Queensland 3 days per week – teaching across three Animal Science Qualifications.
I enjoy watching and studying animal behaviour, giving animals choice, and encouraging them to participate in their own veterinary care without the stress. I currently hold puppy preschool classes for the practice as well as having my own animal training business All Pets Education and Training and am always happy to help you with behaviour or training concerns you may be having.
After Hours – Nursing Care
In-patient Care “Out of Clinic” Hours
Presently we are in a transitional period regards this care and are in the process of seeking new “in house and on-site” carers.
This is a very important role of caring for and monitoring any hospitalised patients at our Holland Park Clinic. This requires his dedicated attendance to patients during the night and over week-ends and communicating updates on the patient’s status to duty veterinarians.
